Here’s the story of a TV renovation we can’t wait to see: Six original stars of The Brady Bunch came together to help HGTV launch a new series that aims to fix up the real-life Brady Bunch house.
The series, A Very Brady Renovation, will see HGTV stars like Jonathan and Drew Scott (Property Brothers) and Lara Spencer (Flea Market Flip) fix up the Los Angeles house that served as the exterior of the Bradys’ TV home during the beloved show’s 1969-74 run on ABC. The renovators will give the property “a ’70s-inspired rehab” that adds 2,000 square feet to the original footprint while maintaining the iconic street view and recreating the show’s kitschy interior design.
All six Brady kids — Barry Williams (Greg), Maureen McCormick (Marcia), Christopher Knight (Peter), Eve Plumb (Jan), Mike Lookinland (Bobby) and Susan Olsen (Cindy) — joined the renovators on Thursday for a walk-through of the property, marking the first time all six actors had been together in nearly 15 years. (Their TV parents Robert Reed and Florence Henderson have both passed away, as has Ann B. Davis, who played housemaid Alice.)

HGTV promises “additional surprise celebrity guests” when A Very Brady Renovation makes its debut in September 2019. (Davy Jones is no longer with us, unfortunately… but maybe Joe Namath is available?)
Every reality show needs a villain, so I can imagine cousin Oliver wandering around sabotaging their improvements.
Lol…that’s funny. I love the Brady Bunch. Can’t wait for this.

i was about 8 when this show premiered. I am very happy to see this and can’t wait to watch.
Dream guest star: Desi Arnaz Jr.
I’d also take Lucie…not fussy. ;)
Isn’t this the house that lance bass really wanted but got outbid on at the last minute?
Yes.
Yes, and he was pissed at first when he heard a corporation bought it, but when he found out it was HGTV and they planned to renovate it, he was very happy. And HGTV said at the time that he will probably be involved in some way.
Small correction — the original run of “The Brady Bunch” from 1969-74 ran on ABC, not CBS, as did the first revival, “The Brady Bunch Variety Hour.” The second revival, “The Brady Brides” (aka “The Brady Girls Get Married”) ran on NBC. Later, “A Very Brady Christmas” and “The Bradys” ran on CBS. Some new version of the Bradys appeared in every decade from the 60s to the 90s. Sad we had to skip the ’00’s — but at least we get a new one in the teens!
Adding 2000 sq ft? The backyard must be enormous. That’s a whole other house on a house.
I mean, my family’s summer cottage is 900 sq ft, and that includes the porch!
The yard isn’t big AT ALL! Go to Google Maps and do a search on “Brady Bunch House, Dilling Street, North Hollywood, CA” and switch to satellite view. It’s a postage-stamp yard! (I thought I’d see from the roof line the same layout as the TV series, but no, the real house doesn’t seem to have the family room bump out, where there were three connected sliding doors on the TV house, running from the family room to the kitchen to the dining room.)
.
I still feel sorry for Lance Bass – the home he wanted to live in was bought by a corporation who will turn it into a TV series, and then likely charge for tours of the place!
He didn’t want to live in it. He wanted to reno it and do his own show. He only started claiming he wanted to live in it when he lost out on it.
Avocado green appliances, orange laminate counter-tops, a Jack-and-Jill bathroom and replace the lawn with astro-turf.
Wait, Davy Jones died? How did I not know this?!
He went to live in the locker six years ago. (Sorry-not-sorry.)
daya you’re funny 😂😂😂
I share the same name with one of the Actors who was on the Brady Bunch, you will see when you read my name and it was a running joke throughout my life and still is when someone recognizes my name. I never hated it except when I was in elementary school, kids can be mean.
Rob?
I share the same first and last name of the actor who portrayed Mike Brady so that’s what I meant. Sorry if I wasn’t clear, not just my first name.
Special Guest Star, George Glass!
Sure, Jan
The exterior and the interior of the house on the original show were completely different houses.
Maybe they will find Tiger.
Lance bass will not be amused.
god they’re old…aargh.
stay home. do you guys really need the money?
get a grip, it’s not 40+ years ago. aargh
Peter is hot STILL 🔥
I’m surprised Eve Pumb actually showed up for this. She’s spent most of her life trying to avoid Brady reunions.
Feel good happy television as a child I would watch anything these guys got together and did “this will be so great to see the real house being restored go Brady Bunch !
Agree, I’ve also read that she doesn’t get along w/ Maureen McCormick.
I think it would be cool to see these six cast members of “The Brady Bunch” have a photo shoot with the six principal cast members of “Friends” and the seven principal cast members of “The Big Bang Theory”. To sort of show how over time some things change and some things remain the same. Like seeing a photo of “television” as if it were a family, with Grampa/Grandma (The Brady Bunch), Mom & Dad (Friends) and the kids/grandkids (The Big Bang Theory). I think that would be a fun thing to see and also it would throw a shock at everybody and remind them that time marches on and wherever you find your peers in that group of icons, you will find that you’re older than you think you are and wonder how we got to now and where we’re going next, and what role you, yourself might have to play, in your own life.
That will be awesome to see the Brady’s. Maybe you can get See I Arnaz Jr.
The actors were probably never at the house when the series was filmed. The house was filmed by a second unit for use as establishment shots. The show was never filmed at the house. I would guess all footage of the house used in the show was filmed in 1969, the first year the show aired.
I Don’t Think The Show Will Be The Same Without Roseanne! But! Who Know’s What The Writers Have In Mind? So, We Will Have To Wait & See?
If the Brady Bunch does a reunion, it will be hard for the show because the mom and dad plus Alice are no longer with us.
They’d have to be creative with the script.
